The Business Analyst provides analytic support, problem-solving capabilities, and communication to Revenue Cycle leadership on all matters pertaining to revenue cycle needs. Supports the Director with detailed analysis on client accounts and supports the monthly billing operations of Bancroft programs by researching and resolving claim denials, rejections and reducing the overall accounts receivable (A/R). This role will serve as the subject-matter expert on billing issues related to systems, process improvements and system enhancements. Maintains an in-depth expertise of Bancroft billing systems and drives towards simple solutions to complex problems. The Analyst must be technically savvy and proficient in research in various clearinghouses, payor portals and with internal client account databases. Collaborates across Finance and Bancroft programs to develop fully informed views and insights into the drivers behind data, and present findings clearly and concisely. The Analyst must have great attention to detail and work well under pressure to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines with short time constraints.Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains an "expert" level knowledge of the system applications as evidenced by:
    • Effective resolutions of day-to-day problems and issues
    • Active participation in information exchanges, user groups and trainings
    • Proactively identify and implement operational improvements, enhancements and system customizations that meet business needs
    • Assists Director with A/R queries and researches issues of non-payment
      • Investigates denials and works with members of Billing to correct and re-bill in a timely manner
      • Ensures that necessary adjustments are handled accurately and timely
      • Supports the weekly/monthly billing processes by auditing data for accuracy and providing data management within various systems
        • Identifies and tracks data discrepancies; collaborates with teams across Bancroft and manages the resolution of any discrepancies
        • Extracts and analyzes data from multiple sources; presents recommendations for solutions to Revenue Cycle leadership and various stakeholders across the organization
          • Support recurring and ad hoc reporting for various internal/external stakeholders
          • Monitor ongoing performance of revenue cycle metrics through development and use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Uses data to identify trends and gaps in the revenue cycle.
          • Seeks and acts on opportunities to improve workflows, systems and processes. Plays a key role in system application improvement efforts.
            • Performs system test and audits, makes recommendations for resolution and establishes new procedures and processes when applicable
            • Prepares monthly reports, analysis and presentations as needed
            • Able to evaluate, understand and explain an insurance explanation of benefits
            • Maintains effective relationships and open communications with Bancroft staff, service recipients, visitors and community members.
            • Performs other related duties, special assignments and projects, as required. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedule as defined by organizational needs.Qualifications:Education & Experience:Requires a BA/BS degree preferably in Business Information Systems, or Healthcare Administration. Minimum of 5+ years of revenue cycle experience, preferably within a healthcare setting involving third-party payer reimbursement. The successful applicant will be proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLookup), and other Microsoft Applications, including Word and PowerPoint. Experience with Salesforce and CoCentrix is a plus. Ability to learn and effectively utilize internal billing systems, clearinghouse sites and various payer portals (NaviNet, Availity, Payspan) is required. Project management experience is preferred.

Minimum 18 years of age required.
