Job Description:
Job DescriptionPost-doctoral research position in Division of
Cardiology, University of MarylandA full-time postdoctoral position
is available in the Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine,
School of Medicine, University of Maryland, Baltimore, in the
laboratory of Dr. Zhekang Ying. NIH-funded projects in the
laboratory investigate the biological mechanisms by which PM2.5
exposure causes adverse health effects. The lab focuses on
understanding how maternal exposure to PM2.5 influences offspring's
susceptibility to obesity and how PM2.5 exposure induces
hypothalamic inflammation affecting glucose homeostasis. The
research employs multidisciplinary approaches, including
biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, mouse models, and
inhalation exposure techniques. We seek an enthusiastic, highly
self-motivated individual to explore the mechanisms by which
maternal PM2.5 exposure programs offspring's susceptibility to
obesity. Prior experience in molecular biology and toxicology,
particularly with genetically modified mouse models and inhalation
exposure, is desirable but not mandatory.Qualifications
