like you to join our team at APL. We are seeking a creative IT
professional to help us support classified computing facilities
that are instrumental to significant Department of Defense and
other government organizations. We take great pride in contributing
our hardware and software support to projects that help protect the
nation. You will actively assist with our IT support efforts,
including planning, configuring, installing, and maintaining
systems used in laboratory environments and field tests. We are a
hardworking team of systems administrators and information security
experts, who love working collaboratively to solve complex
computing challenges. Our team is passionate about providing
world-class IT services to the customers, facilities, and projects
we support. As a Data Storage Manager---
- Your primary responsibility will be working with our Storage Team to ensure the support, security, and maintenance of multiple enterprise classified data storage systems hosting over 10 petabytes for sponsor data.
- You will maintain ongoing data analysis and provide reports of storage usage, data integrity, and accessibility quality.
- You'll collaborate with other team members, program/project managers, and knowledgeable customers to plan new storage procurement and deployment. These storage technologies can include considerations for virtualization, High Performance Computing (HPC), data archive and recovery, networking and other requirements, depending on the programs' needs.
- You will be working with other group members and teams that
specialize in multiple disciplines such as Information System
Security Officers (ISSO) to implement Security Technical
Implementation Guides (STIG), Windows/Linux System Administrators
for access and authentication, Network Engineers for data
transport, and Facility and Datacenter Administrators for space and
logistics.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have...- Deep knowledge and understanding of Dell/EMC storage solutions, NetApp, HPE, or managed enterprise storage solutions. -
- Experience working with and securing systems to DoD/RMF standards.
- Strong knowledge of high capacity storage, backup, object, and archive technologies.
- Networking experience especially as it relates to storage.
- Experience generating detailed reports of data usage and health.
- Current DoD 8570 certification.
- Hold an active Secret security clearance and can ultimately
obtain a Top Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to
a government security clearance investigation and must meet the
requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
