Full-Time Salary: Starting at $63,000, commensurate with experience

collaboration. Position Summary LASP seeks a Community Engagement
Staff Attorney to join its Community Engagement Unit. This position
combines direct legal representation with robust community outreach
and education. The attorney will plan and implement clinics and
outreach events, collaborate with a broad network of community
partners, recruit and supervise volunteers, and represent clients
in civil legal matters, with a primary focus on addressing the
collateral consequences of criminal records and supporting
second-chance opportunities. This role will play a key part in
educating communities about Pennsylvania’s expanded Clean Slate law
and assisting individuals with expungements, pardons,
record-sealing petitions, professional licensure appeals, and
related matters. A particular emphasis will be placed on serving
Spanish-speaking communities within LASP’s service area.
Supervision Reports To: Director of Community Engagement & Training
Supervises: Volunteers, including pro bono attorneys, law students,
and other program participants Key Responsibilities Case Handling
and Direct Legal Services Interviewing clients; determine
eligibility for services; investigate facts and assess legal issues
Conducting legal research and interpret statutes, regulations, and
case law Providing legal advice, representation, and appropriate
referrals Preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions,
briefs, correspondence, discovery, and related filings Developing
case strategy and prepare witnesses for hearings and trials
Representing clients in trial and appellate courts and before
administrative or quasi-judicial bodies Reviewing decisions and
consult with LASP management regarding potential appeals Ensuring
compliance with grant and contract requirements and assist with
program reporting Community Engagement and Outreach Planning,
organizing, and conducting community outreach events, legal
clinics, trainings, and workshops Building and maintaining strong
relationships with community partners and external organizations
Educating communities about Clean Slate laws and available legal
remedies Working with LASP’s Communications team to develop and
update legal education materials, with emphasis on Spanish-language
resources Program and Organizational Support Recruiting, training,
and supervising volunteers, including pro bono attorneys and law
students Participating in LASP-wide initiatives, affinity groups,
and task forces Maintaining accurate case notes, timekeeping, and
files in LASP’s case management system Enhancing substantive
knowledge and skills through CLEs, trainings, and professional
development Upholding all applicable professional standards of
ethics and practice Performing other duties as assigned in support
of program and organizational goals Qualifications Licensed to
practice law in Pennsylvania, or admitted in another jurisdiction
and eligible for admission in Pennsylvania Minimum two (2) years of
legal experience preferred Demonstrated commitment to public
interest law and serving low-income and vulnerable populations
Strong written, oral advocacy, and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal case management systems,
and online legal research tools Spanish language fluency strongly
