This is a unique opportunity to be part of a thriving legal department, where you will be dealing with complex construction-related legal matters. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of construction law, AIA contracts, and the ability to provide strategic legal advice on construction projects.Responsibilities:1. Serve as the primary legal advisor for construction-related matters across the organization, providing clear, concise, and practical legal advice.2. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of construction contracts, including AIA contracts, ensuring that they are legally sound and align with the company's business objectives.3. Handle disputes and litigation related to construction projects, including managing outside counsel as needed.4. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide appropriate legal solutions.5. Stay abreast of developments in construction law and related areas to ensure the company is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.6. Provide training to internal teams on construction law topics and contract management best practices.7. Participate in risk management and strategic planning processes related to construction projects.Qualifications:1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.2. Must be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.3. A minimum of 7 years of experience as a construction lawyer, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.[A book of business is a plus, but not a requirement]4. Extensive experience with AIA contracts and a deep understanding of construction law.5. Proven track record of handling complex construction disputes and litigation.6. Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal audiences.9.
