If a position is listed with both office locations and virtual offerings, Comcast may be willing to consider candidates who live greater than 100 miles from the office for the remote option.)Job SummaryJob DescriptionDUTIES: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Provide technical leadership in designing and developing new software and web applications for the cable, networking, and telecom domain, using scripting languages, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, SNMP, DOCSIS, Cable Modems, Set Top Boxes, EMTAs, Remote Physical Nodes on - vCMTS platforms; design and implement System Test strategies for Quality Assurance; analyze, test and assist with the integration of new applications; oversee the documentation of all development activity; train non-technical personnel; assist with tracking performance metrics; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; design new software and web applications, support applications under development and customizes current applications; develop software update processes for existing applications; assist in the roll-out of software releases; work with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; test and evaluate systems, subsystems and components; act as a technical contact and liaison for outside vendors and/or customers; present and defend architectural, design and technical choices to internal and external audiences; and guide and mentor junior level software engineersREQUIREMENTS: - - - - - - - - - - - - Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, any Engineering, or a related technical field, and seven (7) years of experience working in the cable, networking, or telecom domains; designing, implementing, and debugging networking configurations and protocols; working with scripting languages; and designing and implementing System Test strategies for Quality Assurance; of which five (5) years include working with Ansible, Kubernetes and Docker; of which one (1) year includes working with SNMP, DOCSIS, Cable Modems, Set Top Boxes, EMTAs, and Remote Physical Nodes on vCMTS platformsDisclaimer:This information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this role.
