We are looking for scientists and engineers keen to invent
technologies and implement solutions for our customers.
The selected candidate will be a key contributor to the Mission
Adaptive Autonomy and Trusted Autonomous Systems focus area within
Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories. He or she will be
a highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset, with
opportunity to communicate with Lockheed Martin internal and
external customers to define needs and execute on research to
address these needs in both the short and long term. We work in a
collaborative, dynamic, environment where engineers rapidly build
technology from the initial concept to implemented prototypes that
are tested in the field.
He or she will work within a distributed team of scientists and
engineers at ATL, other Lockheed Martin facilities, outside
companies, and universities to perform research in planning
algorithms (movement, tasks, and collaborative autonomy planning),
robotic perception algorithms including computer vision, LIDAR
point cloud processing, acoustics data processing, etc.
Typical customers include DARPA, IARPA, ONR, AFRL, ARL, commercial
companies, Lockheed Martin business units, and Advanced Technology
Labs proper (via internally funded basic and applied research

Prior to starting work, the selected candidate will select a
standard 40 hour / 5 days per week flexible schedule or a flexible
9/80(A) schedule (typically M-Th 9 hours/day; 8 hours on Friday and
every other Friday off).
--- Bachelors degree in STEM field (Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering,
--- Object Oriented programming and design, with proficiency in one
or more high level languages (C, C++, C#, Java, Python)
--- Familiarity with software engineering tools and concepts
including object-oriented design, source version control (e.g. GIT
and/or SVN), and Agile development methodologies.
--- Experience with software development, modeling, simulation, and
analysis on Linux systems
--- 2 years of applicable work experience
--- Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security
clearance that requires U.S. citizenship. Applicants selected will
be subject to a government security investigation and must meet
eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
--- Masters Degree in STEM field.
--- Research and solution development experience in adaptive
autonomous vehicle planning, coordinated control, distributed
estimation and control in vehicle teams, communications management
and distributed information management for autonomous robotic
systems, artificial perception, sensor data fusion, or
collaborative autonomy involving teams of autonomous vehicles and
humans or teams of manned and unmanned vehicles (MUM-T).
