Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Statement of General Purpose The
Food Service Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparing,
cooking, serving, and cleaning of food meal related services and
functions at the Community Center. The Food Service Aide is also
responsible for assisting in the preparation of meals for other
facilities throughout the Philadelphia area. Applicants must be
able to cook meals. Examples of Essential Functions and
Responsibilities Assists in the food preparation, cooking and
serving of meals and snacks for Center Program Participants. Cleans
and maintains kitchen, equipment, and storage areas in clean, safe,
serviceable condition. Assists in preparing a weekly inventory
listing of products available for use. Fills sugar, salt and
peppershakers, condiment trays; ensures availability of dishes,
utensils, serving trays, glassware, paper products, etc. Complies
with health and safety requirements for food service department
employees, cleaning materials and chemicals, tools and equipment,
etc. Assists in preparing meals for other facilities throughout the
Philadelphia area. Stand-in for Food Service Lead when needed.
Performs related work as required. Core Competencies Ability to
follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to pass the Child
and Adult Care Food Program annual exam. Ability to comply with the
Child and Adult Care Food Program rules and regulations. Ability to
maintain clean, neat, and hygienic work environment. Minimum
Qualifications High school diploma or G.E.D., Valid Serve Safe
Certification (Manager Certification) preferred Experience in
large-volume food service, Any equivalent combination of acceptable
training, education, and experience. Other Requirements This
position includes the normal physical demands associated with a
large-volume food service department, including lifting, bending,
and carrying; extremes of heat and cold; hazardous materials
requiring special use and storage requirements; and travel to other
facilities throughout the Philadelphia area. This position is
subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
This position requires regular travel between three designated
locations and functions as a floater role, providing support where
