x 8 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Experience a
rewarding travel opportunity with Medix! We are currently seeking a
dedicated Pharmacist for a 13-week contract at a premier hospital
facility in New York. As a clinician with Medix, you will work
closely with our client to ensure the safe and appropriate
distribution of pharmaceuticals while providing vital medication
information to staff and patients. Job Description The Pharmacist
is responsible for ensuring the safe use of medications throughout
the facility through rigorous distribution standards and
performance improvement programs. You will oversee the hospital’s
drug formulary, monitor for drug interactions or allergies, and
ensure that both inpatients and outpatients receive the correct
medications with proper labeling and packaging. Location: New York
Facility Type: Hospital Start Date: April 1, 2026 Length of
Assignment: 13 weeks (Contract-to-Hire Eligible) Schedule: Night
Shift (8-hour or 10-hour options); 37.5 hours per week. Training:
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (M-F) for the first 1–2 weeks. First Month:
Weekends (every other weekend, Sat/Sun) with two weekdays off.
Ongoing Schedule: Primarily 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Flexibility exists
for 10-day stretches with 4 days off, or 10-hour shifts (10:00 PM –
8:00 AM) working 8 nights every two weeks. State License Needed:
New York State Pharmacist License & Registration Responsibilites
Monitor and check for drug/drug, drug/food, and drug/disease
interactions and allergies. Prepare sterile drug products in
laminar air flow hoods in accordance with pharmacy policies.
Routinely inspect medication storage areas to ensure the security
of controlled drugs and the removal of expired or recalled
medications. Supply and maintain floor stock, crash carts, and
emergency rescue squad supplies. Review and approve Pharmacy
Assistant/Technician activities that do not involve professional
judgment. Accurately dispense and inventory all controlled
substances daily according to federal and state laws. Maintain a
thorough knowledge of the hospital’s drug formulary and all
procurement policies. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in
Pharmacy or PharmD. Licensure: Active New York State Pharmacy
License and current NYS Registration. Technical Knowledge: Working
knowledge of pharmacy dispensing systems and sterile compounding,
including hazardous and cytotoxic agents. Experience: Previous
hospital pharmacy experience is highly preferred. Benefits Medix is
