Job Details
Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse providing safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.
Delivers patient care incorporating Relationship Centered Care and nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards.
Assesses and evaluates patient care needs applying critical thinking skills in patient care management.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team in development, implementation, and evaluation of plan of care.
Educates patients and caregivers about plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
Manages assignments within Modified Primary Nursing care delivery model.
Role models Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care through various patient care actions.
Considers patient's values, preferences, cultural diversity, and expressed needs in care.
Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
Engages in quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies.
Performs charge nurse duties as assigned.
Coordinates with management to ensure supplies and inventory are sufficient for patient care.
Documents accurately and thoroughly in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements.
Contributes to professional development and advances clinical competence.
Participates in shared decision making through specialty practice councils and unit initiatives.
Job Requirements
NYS RN License required.
BLS certification required.
Minimum 2 years of Medical Unit experience.
Minimum 2 years RN experience.
EPIC experience highly preferred.
Schedule Information
-3x12 hour shifts schedule with weekends required.

-6W Medicine Unit - Medical Surgical Unit.

- Average unit census 22 patients.
