  Job Overview:
  Jacobi Medical Center is seeking experienced ICU Step Down Registered Nurses to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role involves monitoring and managing patients transitioning from intensive care to a medical-surgical unit, requiring keen assessment skills and the ability to respond to critical situations.
  
  Key Responsibilities:
  Maintain a 1:4 RN-to-patient ratio, caring for a diverse patient population ranging from young adults to geriatrics.
  
  Monitor and manage patients with catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
  
  Conduct frequent patient assessments and escalate care when necessary.
  
  Provide IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation as needed.
  Respond effectively to cardiac arrest and rapid response codes.
  
  Required Qualifications:
  Active RN license in New York State.
  Graduate from an accredited National League of Nursing (NLN) school (BSN preferred but not required).
  Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU Step Down or Medical-Surgical Step Down.
  Proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
  BLS & ACLS certifications (AHA required).
  Ability to demonstrate age-specific competency for patient care.
  
  Preferred Skills:
  Experience working with geriatric and cardiac patients.
  Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
