*Location:* Philadelphia, PA 19104
*Job Type:* Full-time, Contract (3 months minimum with strong potential for extension or temp-to-perm)

*Schedule:*
* Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST
* Full-Time, 40 hours/week
* *Initial 90 days on-site* (30 days if performing exceptionally)
* Potential *hybrid schedule* after initial period (4 in-office days/month)

*Overview:*

We are seeking a *Medical Abstractionist* to join our team in a dynamic physician practice environment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in coding, a solid understanding of clinical documentation, and a meticulous eye for detail. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring accurate CPT and ICD-10 coding and the timely submission of billing data.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* Review and analyze patient medical records for accurate diagnosis and procedure coding
* Submit coded services for billing and/or enter coded data for claim submission
* Reconcile inpatient data and address billable service discrepancies
* Investigate and resolve coding edits and errors affecting claims
* Ensure compliance with CPT, ICD-10, CMS, and CHOP standards for physician services
* Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure complete and accurate documentation

*Education & Experience:*
* Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent experience
* Minimum *5 years coding experience*
* At least *3 years working in a clinical environment*
* Strong administrative, organizational, and computer skills

*Certifications (Required - No Apprenticeship Accepted):*
* *Certified Professional Coder (CPC)* - AAPC OR
* *Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)* - AHIMA OR
* *Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-Based (CCS-P)* - AHIMA

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
