A typical day will include:POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • In collaboration with the Global Medical Communications (GMC) leadership team, lead the development of a digital roadmap tailored to define Takeda's digital vision for GMC in support of both existing marketed therapies and Takeda's expanding global pipeline
  • Drive digital transformation through raising awareness of emerging trends in digital technologies, and bringing in cases to support use.
  • Collaborate on the development of digital tools and innovative technology designed to enhance external and internal engagement with Global Medical Communication materials.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    • Closely track emerging and evolving digital technologies across industries, with a focus on Healthcare & Pharma Industries. Leverage proof of concept to test ideas, concepts and channels for Global Medical Communications, which may translate to channels for the rest of GMA.
    • Develop and maintain a digital roadmap leveraging emerging and evolving digital trends that align to Takeda's digital vision for GMC.
    • Support the design, implementation and management of diverse and inclusive high performance innovative Medical Communications & Medical Materials Review solutions, processes and standards with internally and externally facing scope.
    • Manage vendors and projects to develop, disseminate and support innovation and capabilities.
    • Interact extensively with Medical Communication Leads, Therapeutic Area Leads, Digital Leads, and Business Unit teams to help in identification of critical needs and contribute to development of strategic initiatives across all TAs.
    • Contribute to work streams related to conceptualization, development and implementation of communication and review tools and initiatives, aiming to optimize internal and external business.
    • Develop a strategic digital plan and own maintenance of internal sites (e.g. SharePoint) for the Global Medical Communications team
    • Provide expertise, guidance, consultation and support as needed for Regional/BU and Local Operating Company (LOC) activities if needed.EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
      • A relevant healthcare or digital degree is required. An advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, MS or RN) is preferred.
      • 5 years (for Sr Manager) or 7 years (for Associate Director) of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, preferably within a matrix structure
      • 5 years of experience in a digital marketing experience from advertising agency or pharma/biotech
      • 3 years of experience within medical affairs roles (e.g. Medical Science Liaison, Medical Information, Medical Communications, Medical Education, Publications, Research)
      • Experience managing vendors and complex projects
      • Knowledge of medical communication approaches and best practices
      • Familiarity with the contemporary digital landscape of organizations and experience of best technology and process optimization practices to an organization to drive sustainable improvements in business performance
      • Familiarity with international regulatory and legal guidelines regarding medical communication strategy and execution.Takeda U.S. Vaccine Requirement:Absent an approved religious or medical reason, all US office-based and lab-based Takeda employees who work fully on-site or in a hybrid model (as determined by Takeda) must be fully vaccinated to work at a Takeda site or to engage with Takeda colleagues or anyone else on behalf of Takeda.
