For Everyone.--The Accounts Payable & Procurement Manager directly assists and supervises staff in the performance of all expense, fixed asset, and cash accounting activities, accounts payable processing, analysis of financial data, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.-- Performs highly complex accounting activities, analyzes financial data and prepares accounting reports.-- Also oversees more junior Accounting staff.-- Ensures compliance with Bancroft policies and procedures as well as state and federal fiscal management laws and regulations.-- Directly supervises all Accounts Payable activities for the organization in accordance with Bancroft policies and procedures.-- Continuously identifies and facilitates process improvements.



Responsibilities









--

  • Manages the daily operations of Accounts Payable and Procurement to ensure timely and accurate disbursements of vendor payments in accordance with Bancroft Procurement policies and in line with Bancroft/vendor contracts
  • Oversees management of all purchase card and credit card programs, including system administration, to ensure that all Bancroft policies and procedures are followed.
  • Manages the Finance Support Portal for check requests and furniture purchases to ensure proper approval and timeliness of requests.--
  • Coordinates Accounts Payable and Procurement to ensure the smooth flow of information and documents to ensure timely payment to vendors in line with Bancroft policies and contracts.
  • Interacts in a professional manner and on a daily basis with external vendors, Service Line leadership, other Bancroft departments, etc., to keep others continually informed regarding Accounts Payable and Procurement issues and updates, to investigate and resolve problems associated with vendor contracting, the processing of invoices, purchase orders, chargeback procedures, etc., and to determine methods for expediting problem payments.
  • Oversees the month-end closing process in accordance with established closing schedule, including confirmation of completed journal entry preparation, workpaper analysis and reconciliation.-- Reviews various reports from Accounts Payable system (e.g., General Ledger report, Outstanding Invoice report, Check History report, etc.) before submitting for review by internal Accounting team.
  • Managements preparation of all 1099 forms in an accurately and timely manner.
  • Continually evaluates the complete Accounts Payable and Procurement processes; recommends changes or enhancements to existing processes and procedures to improve overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Continually evaluates the mechanics and utilization of the Accounts Payable system; recommends changes or enhancements to the existing system to ensure maximum operating efficiency and timely generation of Accounts Payable reports.
  • Ensures the ongoing creation and maintenance of Accounts Payable and Procurement records and related information for internal use and access by external auditors.
  • Effectively interacts and communicates with external auditors, providing required documentation on a timely basis, and updates Accounting leadership of relevant issues as needed.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff members within direct areas of responsibility.-- Effectively manages ongoing job performance of direct reports through coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary and/or corrective action when appropriate.
  • Performs other duties and special assignments, as required.-- Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments, based on organizational and departmental needs.



    Qualifications









    In addition to the necessary skills and experience to perform the responsibilities outlined above, there are a number of traits that a qualified candidate will possess.--Education & Experience:--BS in Accounting or related discipline required with a minimum of ten years of experience in the Accounts Payable and/or Procurement field.-- Minimum of five years of supervisory/management experience required.--Special Skills:--A solid knowledge base of Accounts Payable and Procurement issues, financial recordkeeping procedures, laws, regulations and standards, particularly as they relate to healthcare enterprises required.-- Proven ability to develop and implement effective fiscal management policies and financial controls, as well as proven ability to interpret audit information and to institute financial policy, procedure and/or operational corrections and modifications required.-- Effective communication, interpersonal skills, presentation, project management and organizational skills required.-- Effective and proven leadership and management skills required, as well as flexibility and adaptability.--What You'll Love About Bancroft:--
