Job Description
OBJECTIVES:
As the Director, Data Sciences Community Engagement, you will
support Head of Applied Data Sciences and Learning to foster a
community of learning and knowledge sharing through opportunities
created for engagement of professionals within R&D that
practice or collaborate with data scientists. This is an early
opportunity to help shape and grow community and programs. It is
intended to facilitate skill development of individuals, sharing
best practices and learnings, and exchange of ideas and use cases
across Research and Development.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Partner with Departmental and Company-wide functions in
development of strategy, leveraging available competencies across
Takeda
- Socialize purpose, available developmental resources and
engagement opportunities.
- Build and maintain a long-term communication strategy to engage
influencers and stakeholders
- Design and Develop programs for use in engagement events
- Establish an exceptional and engaging online presence while
maintaining the overall voice of Data Science Community
- Grow community engagement through live events, social media
experiences, webinars, and meetups
- Discover trending topics, community needs, and interests of the
target audiences
- Expand community and influencer outreach efforts to R&D
stakeholders and create, collaborate, and generate periodic content
for consumption
- Gather and provide news, job opportunities, and other
happenings in data sciences to the audience
- Analyze audience response and impact for improvements on
engagement opportunities
- Define metrics of success for customer service campaigns and
keep track of the progress
- Define and maintain delivery of education/training through
multiple modalities/platforms(coursework, speaker series,
symposiums, as well experiential training)
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (marketing, communication,
data sciences), advance degree plus, or equivalent combination of
education, training, and work experience
- Minimum of 8+ years with demonstrated increased level of
responsibility of professional experience required at a corporation
or consultancy with an understanding of the role of communities and
its impact
- Demonstrated success planning, developing, and engaging a
technical and non-technical community
- Proven experience in social media marketing and/or community
management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative
environment
- Some familiarity with the implementation of quantitative and
qualitative data analysis techniques
- Highly resourceful and collaborative across diverse
stakeholders
- Ability to work as an individual and in a team as per the need
of a project
- A passion for education in general and data science in
particular
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with
internal and external stakeholders
- Exercise sound judgment, professionalism and creative
problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required as
well as strong interpersonal skills
- Some experience hosting and/or organizing live streams and
online events
- Ability to oversee and direct staff.
- Ability to manage budgets and develop financial plans
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- None TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to travel to various meetings or R&D sites.
Some international travel may be required.
- Requires approximately 10 % travel. Base Salary Range:
$156,800- $224,000, based on candidate professional experience
level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term
Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate
in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable
Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition
Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
