We're hiring a Commercial Project Manager to handle initiatives for the Commercial Construction/Retro department. This position manages timely and effective monthly billing for projects, coordinates subcontractor work, reviews all project contracts and present to manager for approvals, and coordinates initial project buy outs as well as materials after buy out. You'll also perform weekly reviews of field labor reports and schedules, complete weekly task analysis, review accounting reports and subcontractor/vendor billing, maintain project files accurately, and update budgets.

What You'll Do:

  • Train and mentor commercial personnel
  • Support profitability by ensuring quality work practices and holding employees accountable for individual performance
  • Establish, implement, and coordinate job layout procedures to assure a cohesive effort between contractors/owners, subcontractors, and our forces
  • Attend meetings on job-related conferences and collaborate with external partners (architects, engineers, suppliers, utility companies, lawyers, police, subcontractors, etc.)
  • Monitor inconsistencies between original estimate and scope of work, estimate change orders, and document factors that could influence pricing or require change orders
  • Perform profitability analysis and complete monthly work in process (WIP)
  • Control claims files, delays, insurance, and legal matters (Risk Management)
  • Coordinate and prepare pre-construction conference, project meetings, and post mortem meetings
  • Handle cash flow management (collections, prompt payment, etc.)
  • Service foreman's needs to make sure they have proper tools, information, and materials to complete projects within budgeted time
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner, projecting a professional and customer-friendly demeanorWhy You'll Love Working for Us:

      • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree (academic or engineering) with applicable course work (HVAC, mechanical engineering, management training)
      • 5+ years' project management experience (or requisite experience) in the mechanical contracting field; energy services experience a plus
      • Knowledge of construction industry, familiarity with legal aspects relating to contracts and projects, knowledge of duct, piping design, and plumbing basics, and commissioning/re-commissioning
      • Experience with commercial mechanical systems, including hydronics, control systems (DDC/pneumatic), and the wide variety of commercial equipment, RTU's, split systems, chillers, cooling towers and pumps, HVAC technologies, electrical and mechanical systems, and related specialty contractors
      • Computer knowledge including Excel, Microsoft Office, etc.
      • Familiar with small business operations within the industry
      • Willing to travel between jobsites, work overtime, and participate in ongoing training
