Job Description: We are seeking reliable and professional Gas Meter
Inspectors to join our team. This entry-level position requires
individuals who possess a valid driver's license and have the
ability to communicate effectively while entering customers' homes.
A experience in cable technology, HVAC, piping, or auto mechanics
is advantageous, but not mandatory. This role involves physical
activity, including walking, climbing stairs, and ladders, in
various weather conditions for up to 8 hours a day.
Responsibilities Perform periodic facility inspections and surveys
on utility-owned gas meters. Complete all necessary documentation
accurately and timely. Ensure readings and records comply with all
company and regulatory requirements. Support the successful
completion of regulatory audits and inspections. Conduct integrity
surveys, including direct assessments and close interval surveys.
Perform audit reviews with operations and provide support during
audits. Essential Skills Excellent verbal and written communication
skills. Customer service-oriented with a professional demeanor.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
(Word, Excel, Outlook). Organizational, interpersonal, and
initiative skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a
team with minimal supervision. Intermediate knowledge of
mathematics, algebra, and mechanical aptitude. Valid state driver's
license with a minimum of one year of driving experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or
equivalent. Ability to interface with technical services,
government agencies, emergency planning committees, emergency
responders, landowners, and contractors. Experience in customer
service, mechanical tasks, and inspection procedures. Why Work

program cycle. Work Environment This is a 100% field-based position
requiring flexibility to travel within the utility territory,
primarily Brooklyn and Queens. Contractors will communicate with
supervisors regarding attendance and sick time. Training includes
OSHA orientation and classroom sessions, followed by certification
testing. Standard operating hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to
4pm, with potential Saturday shifts. Technicians receive equipment,
including a simple tool set, flashlight, gas detector, and
necessary safety gear. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to
Hire position based out of Long Island City, NY. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility
requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to
