(ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1
year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.

considered. A contract position is available for a skilled Sign
Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within an
educational setting. This role demands expertise in American Sign
Language interpretation to facilitate effective communication for
students and staff through remote platforms. The position is based
in Salem, OR, and operates on a 1099 contract basis.
Responsibilities include: Providing high-quality sign language
interpretation during telehealth sessions, ensuring clear and
accurate communication between students, educators, and healthcare
providers. Collaborating with educational and healthcare
professionals to support accessibility and inclusion for Deaf and
hard-of-hearing individuals. Maintaining confidentiality and
adhering to ethical standards related to student information and
communication. Adapting interpretation techniques to suit various
virtual environments and the unique needs of each session.
Documenting and reporting session details as required to support
ongoing student care and educational planning. Qualifications and
desired experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language with
proven interpreting skills. Experience interpreting in educational
and telehealth settings is highly preferred. Strong understanding
of Deaf culture and community. Ability to manage remote
communication technologies effectively. Excellent interpersonal
skills and professionalism. Contractors will benefit from the
