Support students success in Philadelphia-area schools as a per diem Instructional Aide, Instructional Assistant, or Personal Care Assistant (PCA). This position offers flexible, as-needed work schedules ideal for individuals seeking meaningful engagement in an educational setting. Location: Philadelphia, PA Employment Type: Per Diem, School-Based Position Overview: In this role, you will work closely with certified teachers to provide vital classroom and one-on-one support to students. Responsibilities include assisting with academic engagement, supporting behavior and daily routines, and helping with mobility and personal care for students requiring additional assistance. You will also implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior plans as assigned, while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Responsibilities: - Assist students within classroom and individual settings under teacher supervision - Support academic participation and behavior management - Aid students with mobility, safety, and personal care needs (PCA responsibilities) - Follow and implement IEPs and behavior intervention plans - Maintain a positive, nurturing environment conducive to learning and development Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED - Minimum age of 18 - Compliance with Pennsylvania employment requirements, including: - PA Act 34 Criminal Background Check - PA Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance - PA Act 114 FBI Fingerprinting - TB test per district guidelines - Physical ability to assist with standing, walking, and lifting as needed - Clearances must be current or candidates must be prepared to obtain prior to starting Preferred Experience: - Previous work in school, special education, or child care settings - Experience supporting students with special needs and behavioral challenges - Training certifications such as CPI, PMT, or RBT are a plus but not required - Reliable, compassionate, and professional demeanor Benefits: - Flexible per diem scheduling tailored to your availability - Competitive weekly pay Contribute to the educational growth and well-being of students while enjoying flexible, fulfilling work.
