By focusing R&D efforts on four therapeutic areas and other targeted investments, we push the boundaries of what is possible in order to bring life-changing therapies to patients worldwide.Join Takeda as a Global Publications Group Lead, Centre of Excellence & Digital Innovation where you will take a strategic leadership position and drive critical operational aspects of the Publication group, including key initiatives such as vendor selection, process update, metrics and system improvement with a focus on digital innovation. Lead the development of a digital roadmap tailored to define Takeda's digital vision for the global publication team supporting both marketed therapies and Takeda's expanding global pipeline.A subject matter expert on publication best practices and development of scientific publication strategy, the Director, Global Publication Excellence plays a strategic leadership position and drives critical operational aspects of the Global Publication group and ensures alignment across the various geographies: Global, regional, local, Business Units and the various Global Therapeutic Areas. You will also monitor high standards and consistency in quality and internal controls that are applicable to publication activities; and develop and operationalize SOPs for streamlined execution across Takeda.Serve as a strategic partner for the US, China and Japan Publication teams, EUCAN and GEM evidence generation and medical communication partners, as well as various Global R&D groups. In collaboration with the Global Publications leadership team, lead the development of a digital roadmap tailored to define Takeda's digital vision in support of Publications for both existing marketed therapies and Takeda's expanding global pipeline. Drive digital transformation through raising awareness of emerging trends in digital technologies, and collaborate on the development of digital tools and innovative technology designed to enhance external and internal engagement with publication's materials. As part of the Publications, you will report to Head, Global Publications and work with Centre of Excellence & Digital Innovation.How you will contribute:

  • As a subject matter expert on publication, provide strategic leadership to the execution of global publication strategies and deliverables
  • Provide training to teams and therapeutic area stakeholders on best publication practices and publication-related issues, as needed
  • Play a key role in developing, tracking, and reporting publications metrics. Closely track emerging and evolving digital technologies across industries, with a focus on Healthcare & Pharma Industries.
  • Develop and maintain a digital roadmap leveraging emerging and evolving digital trends that align to Takeda's digital vision
  • Interact extensively with Medical Leads, R&D Leads, Digital Leads, and Business Unit teams to help in identification of critical needs and contribute to development of strategic initiatives across all therapeutic areas.
  • In collaboration with others Publication Leaders, determine resource needs; recruit vendors and personnel to fill resource gaps; manage performance of direct reports and contribute to recruiting, training, and coaching of high-performing individualsMinimum Requirements/Qualifications:
    • A relevant healthcare or digital degree is required. An advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) is preferred, Master's degree in biomedical discipline or equivalent with experience in publication management will be considered.
    • 10 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, preferably within a matrix structure
    • 7 years of experience in a medical communications, ideally combined with digital experience from advertising agency or pharma/biotech
    • Expert knowledge of Publications approaches and best practices
    • Managing/leading cross-function and global teams
    • Vendor management experience and experience with publication-support systems
    • Familiarity with the contemporary digital landscape of organizations and experience of best technology and process optimization practices to an organization to drive sustainable improvements in business performanceWhat Takeda can offer you:
