Bancroft is currently seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Cherry Hill, NJ. This position will perform daily and monthly accounting processes and activities contributing to an efficient and service-oriented Finance operation.


How You Can Make A Real Impact:

  • Completes and submits various applications, agreements, and reports required by governmental agencies as it relates to funding for individuals served by Bancroft.
  • Responds to requests from outside agencies in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Bancroft service programs and funding specialists, to ensure all required documentation is accurate, complete and submitted to agencies as required in a timely manner in order to enable individuals served by Bancroft to receive all funding for which they are eligible.
  • Enter and track person served information and upload documentation using database software/EDMS.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate financial records and documentation for to ensure compliance with governmental agencies.
  • Reviews and reconciles cash receipts from outside agencies to ensure that all eligible and approved funding has been received and is properly recorded
  • Prepares and records monthly journal entries into general ledger software. Files and maintains general ledgerjournal entry file system
  • Assists Manager and Finance Department Accountants with the end-of-month closing processes to contribute to an accurate and efficient month end close.
  • Assists Manager and Finance Department Accountants in account reconciliations and special projects
  • Assists with annual audit


    Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required plus a minimum of 1 year of related work experience, preferably within a human services/healthcare setting. Special Skills: Effective verbal communication skills, data entry skills, and organization skills required. Computer literacy required, with working knowledge of MS Office software package, particularly Word and Excel. Basic accounting, data entry and mathematical skills required, as well as effective organization, prioritization, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver's license required in incumbent's legal name and current address with no provisional restrictions. Minimum 18 years of age required.
